Discover the new nature on the Marker Wadden.
From Edam you make a wonderful trip to the Markerwadden.
The boat is in front of the Paviljoen Strandbad right behind the harbor entrance.
As soon as we set sail, it is immediately tackled because the sails have to be hoisted.
Once you have arrived on the Marker Wadden you can stretch your legs, spot birds and discover the main island, yourself or with a guide. You can walk approximately ten kilometers on hiking trails and paths with ramps. There are many viewing huts or towers on the island. The Steltloper is 12m high and offers a unique view over the Markermeer.
The island is still unspoilt, just created by spraying sand and sludge from the Markermeer. There is an information center of Natuurmonumenten where you can find information about these new islands and the latest developments.
When you return to Edam, the Paviljoen Strandbad is a great place for a nice meal.

You sail to the Markerwadden on board of the Lemsteraak LE16.
This beautiful sturdy lemsteraak is a newly build (2001) VA-klassen boat with the lay-out of the traditional Dutch workingboat used in the fishery industry around 1850 – 1920
She is with her comfortable, safe and spacy ‘kuip’ the ultimate ship for a day sailing with the family. Safe for the young and elderly travelers.
You find the lemsteraak LE16 in front of the Paviljoen Strandbad on the quay. It is the ideal base for your sailing trip to the Marker Wadden. The town and port Edam is further up inland.
Situation:
Parking spot (free) at 400m.
Fine restaurant and terrace at the lakeside.
Amsterdam Edam just half an hour with public transportation.

If there is a desire to sail from another location on the Markermeer to the Marker Wadden, we will be happy to take the LE16 to that port. Hoorn, Volendam or Lelystad are eligible).
